The ignition coils and resistors following refurbishment.

Ignition componentry prior to refurbishment.

And during.

The wiring loom connectors come under scrutiny and are replaced where necessary.

Removal of the heads and barrels finds the pistons in superb condition - no need for replacement here.

Heads beadblasted and partially reassembled.

Barrels after blasting.

To begin the wheel building, the spokes - stainless steel 4mm diameter in this case - are simply inserted in the hub and the first "side" takes shape.

The hub and spokes are placed within the rim and the nipples attached.

This is repeated with the other side, and what appears to be a completed wheel is formed. The skill now lies in the trueing process.

It can take many wheels and many years to become proficient at this art - so beginning young can be advantageous
What's left over once the disassembly process is complete. Now the detail work begins.

The stainless chainguard responds well to some time on the polishing wheel.

The refurbishment commences with the carburettors - allowing them to be refitted to the engine prior to its' disassembly and tuned, possibly saving time at the end when looking for any gremlins which prevent easy starting.
The carb internals prior to receiving attention

And after beadblasting, plating and machining to return various fasteners to original specs.

And the finished product.

This is the accelerator pump jet looking towards the engine - note that the outlet is pointing AWAY from the engine which explains why twisting the throttle results in a petrol-covered right knee.

This is the jet removed from the carb - note that it has a flat to allow fitment in only one position - unless a mixture of brute force and ignorance are applied.

This particular machine was fitted with alloy trumpets which polish up well.

Some polishing, some plating, some newly-manufactured spacers. If the ultimate goal is perfection then each item must be fastidiously scrutinized and dealt with accordingly.
The headlight shell and front bracket are removed to reveal this.
A nice addition - new dash supplied with bike.

As it arrived, prior to disassembly.

The machine as inspected pre-purchase - complete and relatively standard - an ideal candidate for a restoration.
